My career began with the exclusive use of
a 4x5 View Camera, and I continue to
approach photography from a traditional
landscape photographer’s perspective.
The view camera sets in relief the
intimate details that are hidden from our
everyday viewing. Often this is not the
result of our inability to see it, but
because we've seen it too often.
Lately, I've been photographing with
medium format, 35mm and digital
cameras. There's a freedom offered by
these formats, which are enhanced by the
discipline of maintaining the underlying
"view camera philosophy". I've expanded
my subject matter to include roads, the
American beach scene, and landscapes
that include man's footprint.

I enjoy photographing the dramatic
Western mountains & deserts, so you’ll
find many photographs from this area
featured in this website. However, I
continue to find that the Eastern U.S.
Landscape offers a quality of light and
beauty well suited to my photographic
style.
Many hours spent driving our remarkable
continent, including road trips such as
driving from Alaska to Key West, have
naturally led me to photograph the open
road with an updated view. But, I still
enjoy the American landscape and
continue to travel in pursuit of the
perfect image!
"...and, as we travel along with Jeff,
we find that every road takes each of
us on our own individual journey."
